British writer Samantha Harvey received the 2024 Man Booker Prize for her novel Orbital. This was reported by the organizers of the award on the official website.
It is clarified that Harvey’s novel tells about a day in the life of six astronauts and cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS). He praised the work for its “beauty and ambition.”
Harvey became the first woman to win the Booker Prize since 2019, the first time the 2024 prize has been awarded to a book set in space.
