The manager of the VanDi Chinese restaurant in Moscow, Ekaterina Shapovalova, has been arrested after a group of Chinese tourists were poisoned at her establishment.
According to the press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction, in accordance with the court’s decision, the woman was placed under house arrest until November 13.
A case was brought against her under points “a”, “c” of Part 2 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code (production, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products, performance of work or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements). The accused faces up to six years in prison.
Our sources in Moscow clarify that several Chinese tourists fell ill after trying carp with steamed rice at the VanDi restaurant.
The victims developed fever, diarrhea and vomiting. Four people had to be hospitalized.
