The mayor of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky announced his early resignation

The head of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky urban district, Konstantin Bryzgin, announced on his Telegram channel that he was resigning early and moving on to a new job. He will leave his post on September 19.

“I will continue to live and work in my native Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. We all have to implement major plans for the development of the city and the entire region.” – he wrote, without specifying what position he would occupy.

Bryzgin was appointed mayor in April 2020; he had previously been acting head of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky urban district and before that worked in the city administration.

Bryzgin’s predecessor Vitaly Ivanenko He resigned from office in November 2019, citing health problems and “family circumstances.” The official was soon arrested on suspicion of receiving a large bribe. In 2022, he was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison.

According to the Kamchatka-inform agency, the new mayor will be the former prosecutor of the regional capital Evgeniy BelyaevOn September 9, he became deputy head of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky administration and headed the control department of the mayor’s office, RBC clarifies.
