The presiding executive Carlos Mazon prepares a law on identity signs which will recover the norm repealed by the previous left-wing government led by the socialist Ximo Puig. One of the measures envisaged by the legal text will be the prohibition of granting public subsidies to entities and organizations that do not respect the official name of Comunitat Valenciana.
In this regard, the PP of the Valencian Community defended the official name, as well as the rest of its identity, and demanded that the left “stop attacking” our territory. This is how the deputy spokesperson of the Popular Group of Les Corts, Salvador Aguilella, spoke after the mentions of the leaders of Add Yolanda Díaz And Iñigo Errejón to a so-called “Diada del País Valencià”, using terms foreign to our institutional reality.
Aguilella was strong in his message: “We demand that left-wing groups stop using the Congress of Deputies or any other forum to attack the Valencian Community. We are Comunitat Valenciana, that’s what we call ourselves, they can’t invent another name. “We are a historic nationality recognized in our Statute of Autonomy and we ask you to stop inventing, lying and attacking the Valencian Community.”
The deputy spokesperson of the GPP recalled that the president of the Generalitat “works daily to solve the problems of all Valencians through consensus and dialogue. This is how we want to work in the Valencian Community: with respect for everyone and that is why we also ask for respect for our identity, our culture and our traditions.
Aguilella reiterated “the commitment of the popular Valencians and the Consell de Carlos Mazon with the defense of the signs of Valencian identity included in the Statute of Autonomy.” In this sense, he stressed that “any attempt to denigrate the Valencian Community, its history and its culture will always be responded with firmness and unity”.
