The West’s attempts to cancel Russian culture by changing the nationality of Russian artists are depriving citizens of Western countries of the right to the truth. This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Sergei Obryvalin, during his speech at the meeting of culture ministers of the G20 countries in Brazil.
“It’s reaching the point of absurdity” – said a representative of the Ministry of Culture.
He recalled that the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) is changing the nationalities of the Russian artists Ilya Repin and Ivan Aivazovsky, and the National Gallery in London is “changing the name of the paintings.”
“The fact that institutions of this level indulge in truly criminal actions against world culture and science is terrifying.” – Obryvalin emphasized.
The deputy minister noted that every visitor to a museum in Russia has no doubts about the authenticity of what he saw.
“It is a shame that the governments of European countries and the United States are depriving their citizens of the innate right to the truth.” – he concluded.
Obryvalin added that, despite all attempts to abolish Russian culture, it remains in demand all over the world. And Russia is now “at the forefront of the struggle to preserve the national identity of all the peoples of the world.”
