The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft resolution on the approval of a new list of entrance examinations for higher education.
According to the press service of the department, the document is published on the official portal of legal information of the government.
The new list requires applicants to take the Russian language and one specialized subject from the list recommended for specific specialties.
At the same time, the university reserves the right to determine this core subject itself or to let incoming applicants decide this issue.
In addition, you can choose one or two more specialized subjects from the list. The requirement that an applicant submit the results of the Unified State Examination in three (or four in some cases) subjects remains, as does the right of universities to formulate the final list of Unified State Examinations in their specialty.
The Ministry of Education and Science is motivating the changes by the desire to strengthen the connection between the knowledge acquired in school and the requirements of higher education programs.
