The ministry that accused the Catalan entities “forgave” 200,000 euros to Ximo Puig’s brother

THE Ministry of Education of the Valencian government chaired by the socialist Ximo Puig “forgiven” 200,000 euros to companies linked to his brotherFrancis Puig, as the current president of the Generalitat stated this Wednesday from the speakers’ podium of the Valencian Cortes, popular Carlos Mazon. Precisely, as Mazón also stated in this same tribune of the Valencian Cortes, the Departments of Culture and Education of the Generalitat have subsidized more than 20 million euros to pan-Catalan entities during the governments of the above-mentioned countries Ximo Puig.

As confirmed by OKDIARIO from sources in the Generalitat Valenciana, the majority of this amount that Carlos Mazón referred to from the speakers’ podium of the Valencian Cortes, more than 170,000 euros, is what the said ministry, which then ordered Vicent Marza (Commitment), I had to come back after having evaluated in April 2024 the Fourth Section of the Administrative Contentious Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV) the appeals presented by the communications companies Canal Maestrat SL and Kriol Producciones SL against several resolutions of the Generalitat Valenciana, which forced these companies to return subsidies for a total amount exceeding 170,000 euros.

The two companies to which, according to the TSJCV decision, the Generalitat should reimburse the money are part of the case in which Francis Puig, Ximo Puig’s brother, is accused. The TSJCV understood that the Ministry of Education had issued and communicated the resolutions when the deadline for doing so had already passed.

A few days later, on April 15, 2024, the Generalitat Valenciana itself expressed its decision to go to court to appeal, precisely, the expiration of the judicial procedures in order to that the Valencians recover this money.

Carlos Mazón raised this issue again during one of his interventions in the general policy debate of Valencian Courts. Specifically, in response to Compromís spokesperson Joan Baldoví.

And in this response, Mazón maintained that “here, the only one who has forgiven 200,000 euros to Francis Puig has been the compromise of the Ministry of Education.” The president of the Generalitat added that he understands that Baldoví “does not like free education from zero to three years and that, therefore, he does not like this conciliation measure. But, there is a conciliation of family and work that we have seen and that you like: Family and professional reconciliation between Puig and his brother“.

It turns out that, as Carlos Mazón denounced, also from the speakers’ platform of the Valencian Cortes, the Valencian governments of Ximo Puig have subsidized more than 20 million euros for Pan-Catalan entities from the Ministries of Education and Culture of the Generalitat itself. Specifically, Mazón stressed that this contribution was 645,000 euros per year from the Ministry of Culture and 1.8 million euros per year from the Ministry of Education.

Vicent Marzà was Minister of Education, Culture and Sports representing Compromís until May 2022, when he resigned to focus on the work of the coalition until the regional elections of 2023. In these elections he was elected deputy to the Valencian Cortes, until in the last European elections he was also elected MEP.
