The most spectacular Roman weekend arrives in a city of Cordoba

This municipality celebrates a few days in which the culture, tradition and gastronomy of the Roman era are remembered.

The Roman past of Mirror will bloom again September 20-22 with ‘Specula‘, a conference that is now celebrating its ninth edition and which allows its visitors to immerse themselves in a unique immersive experience that allows them to recall the glorious days of the Roman Empire.

Ucubi This is the name that this city received from the emperor Julius Caesar, the place where the ancestors of Marcus Aurelius grew up since his grandfather Marcus Annius Verus, who was three times consul in Rome, was originally from this Roman colony.

Returning to contemporary times, “Specula” is an encounter where we can remember the tradition, culture and gastronomy Espejo himself thanks to the many parades, parades, recreations and even concerts with music of the time. Below you can consult the programming of this edition:

  • At 10:00 p.m., the reenactment of the “Roman Priestesses” will take place at the Virgen de la Cabeza.

  • At 11:30 p.m. there will be a concert in the Plaza de la Constitución by the group ’12inches’.

  • At 11:00 a.m. the dynamic tour ‘Licinia Sulpicia’ will take place from the Tourist Office

  • At 12:30 a gastronomic tasting will take place in the patio of Justina Luque’s house.

  • At 8:00 p.m. there will be “El Thyrsus de Bacchus”, a show about music and dance performed in honor of the gods. It will be celebrated in the Virgen de la Cabeza

  • At 9:00 p.m., a parade will take place from the Paseo de Andalucía accompanied by the music of Tintinnabula.

  • At 9:30 p.m., the parade of the Roman Centuria of Ucubi de Espejo will take place in the Plaza de la Constitución and Calleras.

  • At 11:30 p.m., a concert will be held in honor of Fito and Fitpaldis on the Paseo de Andalucía.

  • Sunday 22

  • At 11:00 a.m. there will be a guided tour to discover the historical heritage of Espejo from the Plaza de la Constitución.

  • At noon there will be a Roman gymkhana on the Paseo de Andalucía.

  • At 12:30 a gastronomic tasting will take place in the patio of Justina Luque’s house.

  • At 8:00 p.m., a street theater play will be performed by the CPA de Mayores group in the Plaza de la Constitución.

The Espejo City Hall informs that it will be in Walk in Andalusia where the craft market and children’s attractions are located in this edition.
