The movement of special vehicles belonging to COP29 is tested in Baku

As part of the preparatory process for the COP29 climate conference, which will be held in Baku from November 11 to 22 this year, traffic management is being monitored in the capital in order to organize traffic in an uninterrupted and safe during the event. .

Oku.Az It informs that the press service of the COP29 Operating Company of Azerbaijan published information in this regard.

It was reported that within the framework of follow-up measures, on October 19 from 11:00 to 15:30, the designated accommodation places for conference participants, the Heydar Aliyev Center and the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, and the bus belonging to COP29, located in the center of the capital, the movement of special vehicles is being tested.

More than 20 cars and 15 buses took part in the monitoring activities carried out by the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company, the Ministry of Interior and the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency.

It was highlighted that the monitoring process within the city is implemented without traffic restrictions. The main objective of the follow-up activities is to test the special vehicle traffic patterns that will be applied during the COP29 conference, and to prepare for the management of the intensity that may arise on the roads. Some 350 COP29 volunteers also participate in the simulation process and have received special training in order to assess their level of preparation for the tasks they will perform during the conference.

It should be noted that monitoring will continue on the night of October 20 from 02:30 to 04:30 with partial restrictions on the roads. At this stage, the simulations will continue with the participation of buses, taxis and designated special service vehicles in the direction of the central hotels, the Baku stadium, which is the venue of the event, and the Heydar Aliyev international airport.
