The mystery of Nari’s death, whose body was found in Turkey: Whose blanket is it?

The investigation continues into 8-year-old Narin Gura, who went missing on August 21 in Turkey’s Diyarbakır province and was found dead in a sack in a stream bed near the village 19 days later.

During the investigation, Seda Togrul, the lawyer of his uncle Salim Gura, the main suspect in Nari’s murder, announced that he would no longer defend him and refused to be his lawyer in this case.

About this Oku.Az Türkiye reports with reference to the media.

It should be noted that Salim Guran, Nari’s uncle and also the head of the neighborhood, remains the prime suspect in the boy’s murder.

“The case of Narin Guran, which was closely followed by the public, deeply saddened all of us. When there was no concrete evidence related to the incident, and it was not even known whether Narin was alive or not, when the suspect Salim Guran was arrested, I took it upon myself to defend him within the framework of the right of defense granted by the constitution. However, at the current stage of the case considering the testimony of the accused, the fact that Nari was found dead, and others. I cannot continue to defend Salim Gura and withdraw from this case. As a mother and a citizen, I will follow this case closely. I hope that a fair trial will be held and all the guilty parties will be brought to justice,” said Seda Togrul.

It should be noted that although the murder of Narin Guran has not yet been fully solved, attention was drawn to the words used in the testimony of a person named Nevzat Bakhtiyar, who helped Salim Guran hide the body in the stream bed and was arrested.

Nevzat Bakhtiyar said that Nari’s uncle brought the body wrapped in a blanket and then took it with him. To which house does the blanket belong and the DNA samples that will be detected on it will shed light on the murder.

According to Bakhtiyar, after placing Nari in a sack, Salim from Adya put her in the front seat of Gura’s car. He said the blanket was meant for one person only, but he could not remember its colour. Investigations are currently underway into who the blanket wrapped around Nari’s body belongs to, where it was taken from and which house it came from.
