Ursula von der Leyen, the new President of the European Commission, has announced the name of the new European Commissioner for Energy. Dan Jørgensen will oversee energy prices and the development vector of green energy. TASS reports this today, September 17.
Dan Jørgensen previously worked in Denmark in development cooperation and global climate policy. He will take up his new position on 1 November.
“Dan Jørgensen will become European Commissioner for Energy and Housing. He will work to reduce energy prices and invest in green energy <>. He will become the first commissioner responsible for housing and communal services issues. [и] all relevant aspects from energy efficiency to investment and construction,” – said von der Leyen.
The information was presented during a meeting of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
