The new Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga has announced the dismissal of the chargé d’affaires in Georgia, Strana reports.
Sibiga cited the reason for his resignation as “a complete lack of understanding of the realities of diplomacy in a country that is at war.”
The Embassy of Ukraine in Georgia was headed by Mikhail Kharishin.

In May 2023, the former Chargé d’Affaires of Ukraine in Georgia Andrey Kasyanov He announced that he was leaving the republic after four years of work. The Ukrainian diplomat then expressed confidence that Ukraine and Georgia have “a common future in a single European family” and that the strategic goal of the two countries regarding NATO membership “is a matter of the near future.” Kasyanov has been serving as head of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Georgia since March 2022, when Zelensky recalled Ambassador Dolgov.
On September 5, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada approved the candidacy of Andrei Sibiga for the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. He was successful in this post. Dmitry Kulebawho headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine since March 2020.
