The new ICO chairman was the secretary of the entities that granted 24 million to Marie Claire

The new president of the Official Credit Institute (ICO) Manuel Illueca was the secretary both Fininval Instruments Management Commission as well as the two executive councils, also from Fininval, which granted a total of 24 million euros for the hosiery company Marie ClaireAt that time, Manuel Illueca was responsible for Valencian Institute of Finance (FIV). Thus, it appears in the documentation to which OKDIARIO had access.

The Marie Claire stocking factory was the most important in Spain in its specialty. But that time gave rise to a serious crisis in which it found itself with a debt of 38 million euros. Of this amount, 24 million came from the loans of the Valencian Administration.

The 24 million allocated to Marie Claire is now the subject of an investigation within the commission created in Valencian Courts to clarify whether there were alleged irregularities in the management of companies in the instrumental public sector of the Generalitat under the governments of the socialist Ximo Puig.

Manuel Illueca is one of the 40 positions in the Administration of the governments of Ximo Puig who will be called to appear before the aforementioned commission of inquiry. Specifically, for the aforementioned loans granted to Marie Claire. The current Valencian government seriously doubts that the entire amount of these loans will return to the public coffers.

Specifically, according to the documentation that OKDIARIO has had access to, Manuel Illueca appears as secretary of the Fininval Instruments Management Commission, which approved in June 2019 the first loan for the company Marie Claire for a total amount of 2.5 million euros.

His name, as well as that of secretary, appears in the list of members of the board of directors who approved loans of 9.5 million euros in 2021, also for Marie Claire. And finally, as published by OKDIARIO this Thursday, Manuel Illueca also appears in the list of members of the board of directors of Fininval who in 2022 approved, in turn, another loan, in this case for 12 million eurosonce again for Marie Claire.

It turns out that the list also includes the names of the members of these entities who delegated or who did not attend. None of these cases is that of Manuel Illueca who, in his capacity as secretary, participated in the three meetings.

In fact, at the meeting of the Fininval Instrument Management Commission in June 2019, that of the first loan for Marie Claire worth 2.5 million euros, four of the components delegated. And three others were not present. Only the president and the secretary did so. The latter was Manuel Illueca.
