The new Seremi of Science, Technology and Innovation meets with PUCV authorities

The recently appointed Seremi of Science, Technology and Innovation of the North Macrozone (Coquimbo-Valparaíso), Rodrigo González, held a formal meeting with various academic authorities of our university.

At the meeting, chaired by Rector Nelson Vásquez, the government authority expressed the intention of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation to maintain a close relationship with the universities belonging to the Council of Rectors of Valparaíso (CRUV).

“We have a mandate from Minister Aysén Etcheverry to meet with universities in the region to contribute to the processes they identify and where we may be needed, as well as to demonstrate our work on scientific issues and links with society,” he said. the serémi.

Regarding the meeting, Rodrigo González added that “it was a very positive meeting. The different rectors are committed to carrying out joint work with the different services and public policies, and to using the PUCV for collaborative work with all the actors of society.

For his part, the Vice-Rector of Research, Creation and Innovation of the PUCV, Luis Mercado, stressed that it was “a presentation meeting, where Seremi showed the interest that its portfolio has in our university, which has development in science” and technology that is very important and that leads these areas of knowledge in the region.

Mercado added that, given the magnitude of our university, “it is important that we are also involved in public policies and that there is reciprocity in academia and in society.”
