The next meeting of the heads of the special services of the CIS member states was held

On October 4, the 55th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security and Special Services of the CIS Member States was held in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The head of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Ali Nagiyev, took part in the event.

First of all, the heads of the delegations were received by the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev. Subsequently, the Council meeting began its work.

The participants in the meeting exchanged views on external influences on the security of the CIS countries, threats faced by the member states of the organization, especially on increasing the effectiveness of the joint fight against international terrorism and religious extremism. It was stated that modern challenges aimed at the security of the republics located in the CIS, destructive activities accompanied by disruptive intelligence activities of some foreign circles interested in maintaining the general tense situation in the region with the aim of destabilizing it require The special services of the States of the Union must be constantly attentive, it is necessary to work in a coordinated manner, combining efforts, continuously strengthening cooperation, regularly sharing the experience gained and operational information obtained between partner institutions.

It was also noted that in recent times, issues such as transnational organized crime, illicit drug trafficking, cybercrime and illegal migration have become more important, posing a serious security risk, which means that the special services of The CIS countries must increasingly take more decisive measures against these situations.

Within the framework of the event, the important tasks facing security agencies in the fight against negative demonstrations and the measures that should be implemented in the future were widely discussed.
