Oku.Az informs that the Audiovisual Council and the Media Development Agency have published joint information on the status of coverage of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – COP29 in the media. communication and social networks of Azerbaijan.
It is noted in the information that during the two weeks of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, news agencies, print and online media dedicated most of their materials to COP29, and 60 percent of news produced on separate days organized materials related to the summit.
From November 11 to 23, 2024, about 60,000 links were created in the media related to the topic, of which about 42,000 were published in the Azerbaijani-speaking media, more than 10,600 in the Russian-speaking media and around 7,300 in the English-speaking media.
During the coverage of materials related to COP29, especially news agencies have become the main source that makes up the database. Each of the agencies attracted around 10 journalists and photojournalists to the event hall, interviews with numerous guests were organized, information and extensive reports on hundreds of meetings and debates were prepared.
Taking into account attempts to manipulate information related to COP29 in foreign media, news agencies presented hundreds of important information about the summit in 3 languages. Articles and statements by some media heads about the importance of COP29 were covered in the world media on their own initiative.
Television channels have given special priority to the preparation of materials on COP29 and have allocated more than 60 film crews to cover the event. Some days, especially during the leaders’ conference, the number of film crews was even larger.
The results of the monitoring carried out show that, from November 10 to 24, 2024, television channels throughout the country prepared a total of 5,344 materials of various contents: special reports, interviews, plots, live links, etc. of foreign delegations, heads of state and government. . published.
In addition to news and special reports, television channels have kept some aspects of COP29 on the agenda in separate discussion and analysis programs with the participation of local and foreign experts, and have organized extensive debates.
In total, 1234 on AzTV, 900 on “Real” TV, 840 on “AnewZ” TV, 759 on “ARB24” TV, 429 on CBC TV, 326 on ATV, 321 on ITV, “Khazar” 295 materials were broadcast on television . , 149 on “Space” TV and 91 on ARB TV.
Coverage of the COP29 event on Azerbaijani channels aroused the interest of viewers.
