The operation to undermine Hezbollah’s electronics was commented on by the former head of German intelligence

Former German intelligence chief Gerhard Schindler praised the operation to destroy Hezbollah militants’ communications equipment, calling it “exceptional.”

In an interview with Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland, he said that he considers Israel to be the perpetrator of this attack, as there are indications that the Israeli intelligence services were involved.

Schindler stressed that the operation was extremely professional and will go down in history as one of the most remarkable intelligence actions. He said that Israel was sending a clear message to Hezbollah.

“The message sent to Hezbollah is clear: none of you are safe! So think about what you are doing!” he said.

According to the latest data, 20 people were killed and 450 injured in the second wave of radio explosions used by militants. The first wave of pager explosions killed 12 people and injured around 4,000.

Earlier, Kursor reported that according to Israeli estimates, the number of victims of the explosions in Lebanon is significantly higher than the official figures announced by local authorities. Prominent Israeli journalist and analyst Ronen Bergman, who contributes to the New York Times and Yedioth Ahronoth, noted that Israel estimates the death toll could be in the dozens, if not more.

Bergman added that the blasts caused severe damage to Hezbollah’s elite Radwan unit, which lost much of its leadership.
