The Animalist Party PACMA condemned the “brutal attack” of a bull with an SUV during the Tendilla bull run, in Guadalajara, which took place last Saturday October 5. According to the animal and environmental policy group, the animal died after the blow.
In the published images, several participants applauded after the attack and demolition of the animal, while others lamented the end of the bull run and one of them blamed what happened.
PACMA denounces that this type of events have as their central axis “the mistreatment and suffering of animals”, and repudiates the fact that, from the administrations, they continue to promote a “culture of violence against animals”, protected, affirm- they, by the “lack of regulation and control resulting from engagements with the bullfighting lobby.
The city’s mayor, Jesús María Muñoz, assured that it was an “accident” and that the person behind the wheel “at no time” tried to ignore the situation. “He is the director of the fight and he is more than aware of what happened,” said the mayor. “It was a bad blow and a bad drink for everyone,” said the mayor. Muñoz adds that the confinement ended after the accident.
“This new episode of Tendilla may shock, but it is not an isolated event: it is the result of an institutional permissiveness which arises from the passivity of the parties in power, such as the PSOE and the SUMAR, which do not lift the little finger to put an end to this, but rather move in profile so as not to lose voters,” says the national president of the party, Javier Luna.
It is for this reason that since the formation they have demanded the ban on bullfights and bullfighting celebrations, and they have also urged local and regional authorities to investigate the events that occurred in the city of Guadalajara in order to “debug responsibilities corresponding”.
