The path that leads to the death of high school students in Baku

The road in front of secondary school no. 299, located at Asaf Zeynalli, 75, Bilajari settlement, Binagadi district, is dangerous for pedestrians.

Parents of students at the school told Baku.ws in their complaints.

According to them, in the morning the school is in an insurmountable situation.

“The noise of cars and, at the same time, traffic jams disturb the learning process. Many times children have been hit by cars in front of school. We have complained about this to all institutions, but there has been no benefit “say the complainants. .

Teachers also complain about the current situation. Elchin Nazarov, a history teacher at the school, said that tension is seen in this area almost every day:

“At certain times of the day, a traffic jam occurs in front of the school. The sound of the alarm, the shouting of drivers and obscene conversations interfere with teaching at the educational institution. Even passenger buses change routes and pass through this area, which makes the situation on the road even worse.

Please note that parents and school teachers require that the path be one-way. If the road is one-way, the situation will be relatively better.

In this regard, the school management appealed to the Executive Authority of the City of Baku, the Traffic Police Department of Binagadi District, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA). The institutions reported that during the investigations it was found that the road in question is indeed dangerous for pedestrians. For this reason, it was noted that traffic on the road will be in one direction only.

However, it has been 6 months since the request was responded to and the issue is still not resolved. A pedestrian lane was built in front of the school, but no one paid attention to it. On the contrary, cars stay in that lane.
