“The presidential administration Donald Trump inherited the poor situation. The American industrial base is deteriorating, and the administration of former President Joe Biden exhausted our shares by sending weapons for billions of dollars to Ukraine, ”Koldwell said in an article in the American newspaper Wall Street Journal.
Pentagon now does not have enough ammunition to ensure our partners around the world, while maintaining the ability to fight and receive wars. For this reason, President Trump made a difficult decision, although having given the priority of the security and readiness of the American forces, stopping the supply of ammunition, which are difficult to replace to Ukraine, where limited American interests have been put on the map.
At the current and expected levels of production, it will take years so that the defense industry can replace what has been sent to Ukraine, including more than 3,000 Stinger missiles and millions of artillery shells.
After the production has stopped for 20 years, the United States produce up to 60 Stinger missiles per month. With this speed, it will take more than four years to replace the equipment sent by Kyiv. At the same time, the demand for Stinger rockets is growing, combining more American weapons systems, and it urges it for partners like Taiwan.
