The Plenary rejects the disapproval of the councilor for fairs and festivals of Cordoba and joins the candidacy of the European Cultural City 2031

Yesterday’s plenary session of the Cordoba City Hall rejected, with the votes of the PP, by an absolute majority, two of the proposals put forward by the opposition. On the one hand, the reprobation of the Advisor for Fairs and Celebrations, Julian Urbanoat the request of Hace Córdoba. The measure was not implemented.

His debate sparked criticism from the PSOE, the left coalition and Vox towards the management of the former mayor of the Presidency. The recent festivals in Casco, the bottle problems and the loss of European funds are two of the arguments on which the opposition has agreed. Also some high-sounding statements, in the opinion of the opposition, and the mayor’s corrections on some of these subjects.

Urbano defended himself by recalling how, in previous mandates under the leadership of the PSOE and Izquierda Unida, he had problems in the crosses with “bottlebells, fights and even a few arrests” and claimed that he had so far organized 19 celebrations without any incident, in addition to having taken measures after the problems of Santa Marina and Colon.

On the other hand, Voice presented in plenary a motion for Córdoba to join a joint candidacy with Úbeda and Baeza for the title of European City of Culture in 2031. The votes against the PP left on the table the same one that the PSOE and Hacemos Córdoba supported .

In the popular ranks, councilor Isabel Albás declared that currently “the priority is the industrialization of the city with the Army Logistics Base» even if they will support Jaén’s candidacy if it finally comes true.
