Pope Francis takes control of Torreciudad. Two weeks after the request of the Bishop of Barbastro-Monzón, Ángel Pérez Pueyo, the Holy See takes the first steps in Torreciudad and has appointed Alejandro Arellano Cedillo, dean of the Tribunal of the Roman Rota, pontifical plenipotentiary commissioner and delegate of the Saint -Headquarters for the “Torreciudad complex”. The decision validates, in principle, the assertions of the bishop of Barbastro-Monzón, who has been besieged in recent weeks by ultra-Catholic sectors. Torreciudad is a symbol of Opus Dei. When he was two years old, Escriva de Balaguer was taken by his parents to the hermitage of Torreciudad to give thanks for the healing of a serious illness.
