People’s artist of Azerbaijan, cellist Rasim Abdullayev, has died.

It should be noted that Rasim Abdullayev was born in Baku in 1944. In 1951-1962 he studied at the Bulbul secondary music school and in 1962-1967 at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory in the class of Professor Sabir Aliyev, specializing in cello. In 1968-1969 he continued his studies in the cello specialty in the class of Mstislav Rostropovich at the graduate school of the Moscow State Conservatory.
In 1964-1972 he was a soloist of the symphony orchestra of the Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra and from 1970 to 2010, in the symphony orchestra of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
In 2005 he received the honorary title of People’s Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
