The second prize was awarded to Alejandro Oliveira from La Falda (Madrid) and the third prize to Samu Curbeira, from Café Ankha in El Ferrol. The first prize was awarded by the president of the Provincial Deputation of Alicante and mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez.
The winner emphasized that “it’s a very simple tortilla, which has nothing special, which everyone likes it“. For the winning establishment, “the most difficult thing was the competition and the high level of all the participants”. The team led by Rodríguez hopes and is convinced that the public and customers will appreciate this award, which “represents great recognition for all the years of work that we have accumulated in this world of gastronomy.”
The president of the Jury of the XVII Spanish Tortilla Championship – Tescoma Trophy, Rafael García Santos, said that there was a “high level” where a large number of tortillas exceeded the score of eight, “which demonstrates the difficulty to determine the champion of this edition.
The jury responsible for evaluating the tortillas was made up of personalities from the culinary world, including journalist Pepa Fernández, as well as José Gómez ‘Joselito’, Paco Torreblanca, Kiko Moya (L’Escaleta), Carme Ruscalla (Moments Mandarin Oriental). , Fran Martínez (Maralba), Alberto Ferruz (BonAmb) and Senén González (La Cocina de Senén).

The two previous editions of the Spanish Tortilla de Patatas Championship – Tescoma Trophy fell in 2022 to Alberto García Ponte, from Mesón O Pote (Betanzos) and Carlos Olabuenaga, from Tizona (Logrono); and in 2023, the best tortilla in Spain was made by Pedro José Román, from Cañadío (Santander).
