The spokesperson for the PP, Borja Semperaccused the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, of having lied to Parliament about the nature of the Venezuelan Vice President’s trip. Delcy Rodriguez in Spain and announced that his party would deploy a triple political, judicial and international offensive “to know the truth”.
In a video sent to the media, Sémper mentioned the report sent by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard to the judge who investigation into the Koldo affairIsmael Moreno, who highlights the “important role” of former Transport Minister José Luis Ábalos in the plot and reveals that he informed Sánchez by SMS of Delcy Rodríguez’s visit.
“The ministers and the president of the government lied to all of us Spaniards about the circumstances and nature of the vice president’s trip. Delcy Rodriguez in Spain. The ministers lied to us, the President of the Government lied to us and they continue to do so today, but what is more serious is that the President of the Government lied to Parliament,” denounced Sémper.
Thus, he announced that the PP was going to deploy a “triple offense»: political, judicial and international “to know the truth”.
“We are going to strengthen the control work of the Government at the seat of Parliament. We will do it in the Congress of Deputies and we will also do it in the Senate”, broaden the search object in the commission of inquiry opened in the Senate”, he noted.
Thus, he warned that “if the Government does not want to give explanations to the media or in the Congress of Deputieshe will have to do it in the Senate and the whole truth will be known.”
For its part, the judicial offensive materializes to the extent that the Popular Party appears before the National Court in this case, while the international offensive -he said- it will be through the Popular Group of Brussels.
From the Belgian capital, “they had the opportunity to show that since 2018 “Mr Borrell and Pedro Sánchez knew that Delcy Rodríguez was banned from staying in Europe and, therefore, from setting foot on Spanish soil.”
“They lied to us about everything. They lied to us about Delcy Rodríguez, they lied to us about everyone’s business. This government lies to us and Spain deserves a government that does not lie to us,” he concluded.
