The PP municipal group approved this Thursday an initiative to bring to the next plenary session a 20% increase in the salary of the mayor, Lorena Orduna, up to 62,500 euros. The popular, who do not have the guaranteed votes for this proposal, are evaluating whether or not to maintain the proposal.
The salary increase is part of an initiative that also provides for the increase in the distribution of exclusive dedications of the City Hall, with one and a half more for the Popular Party, one for the Socialists and half more for Vox. The proposal was debated in the Information Committee of Personnel, Organization, Technological Administration and New Technologies and only the PP voted in favor. The PSOE and Vox abstained.
Sources close to the meeting explained that the popular parties expressed there that they were considering withdrawing this point from the next plenary session – which will be held on Tuesday, September 24 at 9:30 a.m. – if they did not have sufficient resources. support. The proposal is also linked to a salary increase for city councilors with the exclusive mission of adjusting their salary to the registered CPI, which will mean around 900 euros more per year for each.
The Huesca City Council is experiencing a complicated situation since Vox has not guaranteed the support of Mayor Lorena Orduna in the municipal government, which forces the people to negotiate each initiative to approve it.
