The PP and the left reject Vox’s proposal for “inappropriate occupation” of marquees by menas

The PP joined Más Madrid and the PSOE this Thursday in voting against the proposal presented by Vox during the Hortaleza plenary session before alleged “inappropriate occupancy” of EMT canopies by unaccompanied minors from the district capital.

Those of Javier Ortega Smith presented a proposal during the plenary session of Hortaleza, chaired by David Pérez, which they described as “inappropriate occupation”, which generated “an increase in insecurity and intimidation among residents and users of public transport, particularly towards girls”. and elderly people, as well as an increase in waste, bags and dirt, which affect the image and use of public space in the area.

In plenary, they requested that immediate actions be coordinated with educators and those responsible for the Hortaleza center to resolve this problem and “guarantee respect for public space and EMT users”, in addition to “more police presence to guarantee the safety of neighbors. “, according to Europa Press.

On the morning of this Thursday, the PP presented an amendment to the Vox text in which it proposed a change, affirming that if misuse of bus shelters occurs, Madrid City Council will continue this action, “whether or not it is committed by minors. . ” unaccompanied or any person found in the city, regardless of their nationality. The amendment emphasizes that the PP “always stands on the side of citizens, common sense and the continuation of inappropriate behavior that threatens coexistence, but without laying charges.”

Finally, Vox did not accept the amendment proposed by the PP during the Hortaleza plenary session, so the vote on the original text resulted in the rejection of the “popular”, Más Madrid and the PSOE.

“Neither with Vox nor with the left”

Hours before Hortaleza’s plenary session, Madrid vice-mayor and municipal government spokesperson Inma Sanz said Vox was not going to “drag them into its speech” on the unaccompanied minorswhile emphasizing that the regulations are there to comply.

“On this issue, neither with Vox nor with the left, because they make populist speeches on one side and deeply demagogues on the other. What the mayor (José Luis Martínez-Almeida) explained yesterday is that, obviously, the use of any infrastructure or any public space, logically, must be done in accordance with the regulations, but whatever for these people or for anyone else Sanz reiterated during the press conference after the government meeting.

A few minutes before his words, the leader of the opposition and spokesperson for Más Madrid, Rita Maestre, received “with some surprise how the PP rushed to save the Vox soldier” by presenting this amendment, a formation policy plunged into controversy over one of “The most despicable initiatives we have seen in municipal politics, a racist accusation typical of 1933”, with the coming to power of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi party, accused Rita Master.

The PSOE spokesperson in Hortaleza, Jorge Donaire, also took a position against “a petty, contemptible and intolerable proposal, a clearly racist and xenophobic proposal that attempts to go back to dark moments in history, where segregation, discrimination and violation of rights were present in society.

Even the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and MigrationElma Saiz spoke out, calling for people to be “anti-racist”. “Total condemnation of any message as clear as Vox and also condemnation of any lukewarmness. “That’s what it’s about, not only not being racist but being anti-racist,” he defended.

From Vox, councilor Ignacio Ansaldo pointed out that in his party they are used to being called “racist”, now when they ask for measures for unaccompanied minors “who destroy furniture”.

“We should act, right?” But since they are “menas”, we cannot do it because we are all racists. The menas, in addition to destroying furniture, create insecurity in the neighborhood. There is no right for the inhabitants of Hortaleza to have to change their habits to take the bus, we only asked for this, that measures be taken so that people can live normally”, justifies the councilor.
