The PP is obsessed with saving a Mazón who “was held responsible” and accuses the government of not showing its face

He The Popular Party supports Carlos Mazón’s speech during his appearance before Les Corts Valencianes to explain the management of DANA, a tragedy which has so far caused 216 deaths and 16 missing. A speech full of lies and inaccuracies in a headlong rush without self-criticism, accusing everyone except the Generalitat.

Some arguments which seem to convince at the headquarters of Genoa where it is assured that the Valencian president “was held responsible” unlike the Spanish government who, it is said, does not show his face. “He appeared, he reported and, therefore, he is held accountable to Parliament to his citizens, which is what we politicians must do,” Cuca Gamarra said.

And they believe that for citizens, this is also the case, at least in part. This was suggested by Feijóo, who assured that after this appearance there would be “many people who feel at least partially comforted with the political class.” The president himself recognized his errors, but not his share of responsibility and limited himself to saying that the system had failed.

Concerning a possible resignation of the popular, Mazón did not make a mea culpa this Friday and everything indicates that he will not do so soon. He will only step down if he is unable to rebuild the affected areas: “And if I am not able to lead the recovery that Valencia needs, I will assume the political consequences do not stand for election.”

A task to which the People’s Party also subscribes. “I think he should lead the recovery and the reconstruction of the affected areas, without a doubt”, said Elías Bendodo. In fact, according to the training, they believe that it is he who must bandage the wound.
