The PP of Madrid launched this Tuesday a campaign to collect signatures and announced mobilizations in the municipalities of the Community to denounce the “abandonment” of the Madrid Cercanías network by the government of Pedro Sánchez and the “permanent mistreatment” that suffer the people of Madrid. .
The general secretary of the PP of Madrid, Alfonso Serrano, and the mayor of Móstoles and president of the PP of the city, Manuel Bautista, presented this Tuesday in the city this new campaign of collection of signatures and mobilization in the municipalities affected by the delays in Cercanías, with nearly 800 breakdowns on the network which moves 700,000 people per day.
The initiative, launched in Móstoles, will be extended to all municipalities affected by the problems of Cercanías. “We are going to collect signatures and mobilize and we are going to continue taking to the streets with the neighbors,” said Serrano, who recently announced that the party would call for “a broad mobilization” in the capital to protest the Cercanías service . will be accompanied by demonstrations at the local level in the “most affected” municipalities of autonomy.
“From the PP of Madrid we are going to launch a series of actions to claim what we believe is right after so many years of abandonment of Cercanías in the Community of Madrid”, emphasized Serrano, who stressed that he does not would not allow the Sánchez government’s continued poor treatment of the people of Madrid.
According to what he explained, so far this year the Madrid Cercanías network has recorded almost 800 outages for 700,000 people who use it daily, while in the Metro networkwhich moves two and a half million people a day, “did not even suffer by half”.
“The data is there, even if the government tries to hide it. In recent years, more than a million travelers have fled the Cercanías of Madrid and taken refuge on intercity bus lines or in the Madrid Metro, which the Community has reinforced, and, unfortunately, in the use of the vehicle private, which causes, as everyone sees, there is an increase in traffic jams at the entrances to the city of Madrid,” he said.
In the capital, moreover, as he recalled, work has begun to bury the A-5, which will improve the quality of life of Madrilenians but which will, in a first phase, cause disadvantages in terms of mobility . In this sense, he called for coordination between administrations and called on the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Oscar Puentego out into the street to see “the real situation”.
For the head of the Madrid PP, this can be resolved with investments, with commitment, but “unfortunately” the Central Executive does not currently have the resolution of the Cercanías in its ranking of priorities. “The president is more concerned about protecting his wife from her corruption affairs and a government more concerned about the corruption affairs that affect the entire government and that its own territorial men do not get out of control,” he said.
Call to Lobato
In this sense, Serrano directly called on the general secretary of the PSOE of Madrid, Juan Lobato, to stand “for once” alongside the people of Madrid, even if “every time he had the opportunity, he decided to become Sánchez’s spokesperson. faithful squire.”
