The Table of the Andalusian Parliament, controlled with an absolute majority by the PP, registered this Wednesday a proposal from the popular group to appoint the one who was its advocate during the political cause of the ERE, Lourdes Fuster, new advisor to the Council. of the Directors of Radio Television of Andalusia (RTVA).
Fuster’s nomination will likely be voted on in plenary next Wednesday, but the PP will need the connivance of Vox – or the unlikely support of the left – because the nomination requires a three-fifths majority of the House. Fuster was one of two lawyers who represented the PP as a private prosecutor in the ERE case, which tried and convicted the entire leaders of previous socialist governments for welfare and labor fraud.
Since then, this lawyer has held four senior positions in different ministries of Juan Manuel Moreno’s government over the past six years. In 2019, she was appointed deputy director general of the Environment and Water Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture, after beating 40 other candidates, but she only held the position for one year.
At the end of 2020, she was personally appointed president of the Andalusian Institute for Research and Training in Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Organic Production (IFAPA). In August 2022, after the Andalusian elections, the advisor to the presidency, Antonio Sanz, claimed her for his department as general secretary of the Interior and Public Entertainment. Sanz was general secretary of the Andalusian PP and led the opposition strategy against the government of Manuel Chaves and José Antonio Griñán because of the ERE case.
Last March, Fuster announced that she was leaving her position at the Ministry of the Presidency for “personal reasons,” and the spokesperson for the Directorate at the time, Ramón Fernández Pacheco, explained that she had received “ a job offer that she considers better,” she recalls Europe Presse. Six months later, the PP proposed her name as RTVA advisor, after the resignation of Elena Natalia Segura, who occupied the seat of the popular quotient.
Lourdes Fuster represented the popular accusation exercised by the popular in the ERE case and also in others such as Invercaria, the training courses, Mercasevilla, the “Avales case” or the “IDEA case” for several years, together with her husband and office colleague Luis García. The nomination of Fuster as new councilor must overcome, before the vote in plenary, the questions of all the groups of the nomination commission, even if this process has become a procedure in which their honors do not call into question the profile chosen by the proposing party, because the positions have been previously agreed.
The García Navarro & Fuster Asociados law firm was hired by the Seville City Council between 2011 and 2015, then managed by the popular Juan Ignacio Zoido, for the legal advice of Mercasevilla, majority owned by the City of Seville, for the different elements of the macro-case initiated by judge Mercedes Alaya in 2009 and which gave birth to the ERE case.
