The president of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, supported the change of the republic’s national anthem. This was stated in an interview with the Kabar news agency.
“What’s wrong with updating the anthem? The current anthem was written 33 years ago, when we first gained independence. The authors wrote with a feeling of joy and enthusiasm that we had become free, independent, that the destiny of the people was in their hands and that we must move forward. We are now fully established as a state. We have become recognizable in the world. Will we still be singing 100 years after we have become an independent state? Why not write an anthem that shows that we are an independent State, a people with a history of five thousand years, an anthem that strengthens the spirit of youth and future generations? – said Zhaparov.
Furthermore, according to him, the current anthem will not be forgotten. It will remain in the file as the first.
The President recalled that some people opposed changing the national flag.
“Is the current flag bad? It’s better than before. It doesn’t look like a sunflower or a sawmill blade. Now whoever looks at the flag immediately understands that it is the sun.” – Japarov said about this.
Former Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Nurlanbek Shakiev He declared the need to change the text of the national anthem. In his opinion, the anthem should be universal, rhythmic, so that all citizens, young and old, can easily interpret it at any time and in any situation.
“It doesn’t matter if you are 5 years old or 90, the anthem should be accessible and understandable to everyone.” – said Shakiev.
