Polish President Andrzej Duda underwent surgery due to an injury that caused him to lose the tip of a finger.
This was announced by the Secretary of State of the Chancellery, Wojciech Kolarski, on RMF FM.
The presidential spokesperson explained that the injury occurred on personal time and not during the performance of official duties.
“Minor surgery was required,” the spokesperson said.
However, Kolarski declined to go into details about the incident, noting that it occurred during household chores.

In early October, Andrzej Duda appeared in public with two fingers of his right hand bandaged. In recent days, Polish media have noted that the middle finger of his right hand appears swollen and shortened. Some publications suggested that the injury could be related to renovations on a new apartment, since the president likes to do that type of work.
Previously, “Cursor” reported that Andrzej Duda was facing trial for his statements about the audience of the film “Green Border”, directed by Agnieszka Holland. The Center for Monitoring Racist and Xenophobic Behavior believes that the president insulted Polish citizens by saying that “only pigs sit in the cinema.” According to the organization, the first court hearing will take place on October 24, 2025 in Warsaw.
The film that sparked the president’s reaction is about refugees from the Middle East and Africa trying to enter the European Union across the “green border” between Poland and Belarus. Agnieszka Holland shows in her film the manipulations of Belarusian propaganda, which promises immigrants an easy path to the EU.
Duda commented that, in his opinion, the way the film portrays Polish employees who protect the interests of society and ensure the country’s security did not leave Border Guard agents indifferent. That’s why, he said, they used the slogan “Only pigs sit in the movies.”
Later, in an interview with TVN24, the president clarified that this was not his personal point of view, but rather a quote, in reference to the “contribution law.”
The lawyer contacted by journalists highlighted the uniqueness of this case. “We are talking about a civil process for violation of personal rights against the State treasury. If the court recognizes a violation of the rights enshrined in the Civil Code, it may decide on a public apology or compensation, as well as reparation. publication of an apology in the media,” he added.
