The process of nominating candidates for municipal elections in Azerbaijan begins.
Oku.Az informs that this is reflected in the “Calendar plan of main actions and events for the preparation and holding of municipal elections in the Republic of Azerbaijan”, approved by the Central Election Commission (CEC).
It was noted that after the official publication of the decision on the appointment of candidates, the process of nominating candidates for municipal members begins.
According to the CEC decision, the next municipal elections are scheduled for January 29, 2025.
It should be noted that, according to articles 214.1, 214.4 and 214.5 of the Electoral Code, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who permanently live in the territory of the electoral district and have the right to vote, groups of voters with initiative, political parties, Blocks of political parties can participate as candidates in municipal elections.
