With the objectives of facilitating the availability of tap water for citizens and tourists in public spaces with maximum attendance, of providing social value by making the city more user-friendly, of facilitating the consumption of tap water tap as a healthy drink and reduce waste generation through the filling of containers, this project now enters its Phase II, with the installation of 7 new dispensers in the locations of: Barrio de Benalúa (Plaza Navarro Rodrigo), Plaza de España (near Plaza de Toros), Alicante General Hospital (main entrance), Plaza Séneca, Villafranqueza neighborhood (El Palamó – Plaza Constitución), Santa Faz (monastery square) and Plaza Calvo Sotelo. Recovered water: efficiency in water resources management

As part of the section dedicated to the efficiency of water resources management, the governor highlighted today the increase in regenerated water in the city of Alicante, which reached a volume of 13.5 hm3 over the last 12 months, representing a growth of 15.25% compared to the previous period. Among them, about 12hm3 corresponds to regenerated water for agricultural irrigation, which saw an increase of 16.81% compared to the previous period; and more than 1.5 hm3 correspond to regenerated water for irrigation of green spaces, washing areas and filling trucks for cleaning sanitation networks, with an increase of 4.27%. Thus, regenerated water now represents 46% of the total water treated in Alicante’s wastewater treatment plants, or a total of 29 hm3.

Attribution of LOSS for the Digitalization of Water

Likewise, with regard to the recent attribution of the PERTE for the digitalization of water, the distribution of the overall budget of the proposal “Comprehensive Plan for Digitalization of Waters of Alicante” has been revised, from 6.2 million euros, including 84% financing. , with 5.2 million euros. The joint enterprise will co-finance the unsubsidized actions, as part of its annual Investment Plan. This proposal aims to modernize the sensorization of infrastructures, to optimize the use of data with efficiency and sustainability criteria; preserve water resources; and reduce energy consumption and environmental impact, all within the framework of the 18 projects included in this Global Digitalization Plan for Aguas de Alicante.

Included are the development of the Baja Supply Master Plan, the Digital Twin of the Water Transport and Distribution Network and the Alicante Drainage Network and the development of the mathematical model of the Urban Regenerated Water Network. Also, the development of construction projects for critical infrastructure of the sanitation network for the protection of the receiving environment, monitoring of groundwater collections, digitalization to control water quality in real time, as well as installation of advanced leak detection pre-locators. In the same spirit, the development of a platform for analyzing remote reading data, the installation of sensors for intelligent irrigation of green spaces and the control platform, the installation of advanced control stations are planned. industrial discharges and infiltration into the water network, as well as other complementary actions.

The Plan also includes monitoring of discharge points in the receiving environment; sensorization for advanced control of the Rincón de León wastewater treatment plant (STEP) and its control platform. And finally, the creation of a Water Intelligence Platform for the publication of open data generated by the implementation of new solutions.

Impact of LOSS on the Alicante Agua Circular project

The award of PERTE for water digitalization will allow progress towards the goal of 100% reuse of purification water within the Alicante Circular Water project. Among all the projects it covers, the Council highlighted the impact of obtaining European funds on the advancement of the Alicante Agua Circular, especially with some of the most relevant actions it includes: critical infrastructure of the sanitation network for the protection of the receiving environment; advanced monitoring stations for industrial discharges and infiltration into the drainage network; additional actions to control infiltration into the drainage network; and an advanced control platform for industrial discharges and infiltration into the drainage network.

New indicators: customer experience

Aguas de Alicante has recently integrated new indicators that allow it to measure and evaluate improvements in its Customer Experience service, with monitoring of reviews on Google and satisfaction surveys after making a transaction with the company.
