The Provincial Council of Toledo supports the footwear sector in its commitment to digitalization and e-commerce

The president of the Provincial Council of Toledo, Concepción Cedillo, signed a collaboration agreement with the director of the Footwear and Research and Development Association of Toledo, José Luis González, on behalf of its president, Santos Martín-Caro, for which the provincial institution will invest 20,000 euros to collaborate in the development of the course “Advanced Digital Marketing for Online Shoe Stores”.

The Provincial Delegation of Toledo thus supports the footwear sector of the province in its commitment to digitalization and commerce on the Internet, supporting a fundamental sector of the provincial economy, with the aim of improving commercialization and ‘internalization of products manufactured by Toledo footwear industry companies, for the most part. which are located in Fuensalida and nearby townswhere the association is headquartered and where the agreement was signed.

As the president of the Provincial Deputation explained, “this collaboration is part of the provincial institution’s goal of promoting the economic development of the province of Toledo, supporting the different sectors that create wealth and jobs in municipalities, and in this case “We achieve this by helping to boost the activity of shoe companies through training.”

Later, with the mayor of the city, José Jaime Alonso; the vice-president of the Provincial Delegation, Joaquín Romera, and the deputy for Business and Heritage, José Eugenio del Castillo, Cedillo visited a shoe factory in Fuensalida, where he was able to see for himself how it takes place shoe production and learn from the mouths of the workers themselves the situation of the sector and possible improvements that can be addressed to improve it.

The course “Advanced Digital Marketing for Online Shoe Stores”, whose classes started on September 30, aims to train active workers in the shoe sector and unemployed people interested in this sector in this area, thus professionalizing it and improve its competitiveness in increasingly globalized markets.

The training that participants will receive will focus on essential aspects such as the creation and management of online sales websites, knowledge of digital commerce, marketing strategies, digital tactics, social networks and creativity, among others.

“All this to contribute to continuing to promote online commerce and the internationalization of companies and companies dedicated to the footwear sector in the province of Toledo, and thus bring the quality of the products offered by this sector in the province to consumers from all over the world.” remarked the president of the Provincial Delegation of Toledo.
