The Provincial Deputation of Valencia begins a varied program of activities to celebrate the October 9Valencian Community Day, which will take place under the motto “Càntics d’amor, hymns of pau” and will combine “modernity and tradition” around the legacy of King Jaume I.
The campaign, which evokes the values of unity and coexistencerevolves around the symbol of the circle, which represents the union of the Valencian people. It is designed by Javi Valiente ‘Revolution’, who was inspired by “the round shapes that identify us, like the pilota, the paella or the orange”, details the provincial corporation.
“The circle represents the meeting, the meeting point. “We, the Valencians, always gather around a circular object: a table, a square, a paella,” illustrated the designer during the presentation of the program, carried out this Tuesday afternoon in the Plaza de Manises de Valencia, in front of the institution’s headquarters.
“Circular shapes are present in our culture, in our daily lives and are a reflection of our welcoming and open nature. And that is what we want to convey this year: that dialogue, unity and peace are the only way forward. “May our differences not divide us, but enrich us,” declared the president of the Provincial Council, Vincent Mamaneither.
Mompó highlighted that this year the message of the campaign is “universal”: “We are launching a message that we want to carry beyond our borders and we are doing it with the motto ‘Hymns of love. Hymns of Pau. A sentence from our regional anthem which reflects the feelings of the Valencians. A phrase with which the Valencian people say enough wars and enough hatred.
With this in mind, he invited citizens to participate in the activities organized by the Provincial Council to celebrate October 9, “a day in which we renew our commitment to the land that we love and to the values that define us”: ” “We remember our roots, we honor Jaume I, who knew how to unite people under the same flag, and we celebrate our identity.”
As part of the event, the president of the Provincial Council interacted with the hologram of the King James Ias a “symbolic meeting between the founder of the kingdom of Valencia and the Valencians”.
