The PSOE and the PP argue over the salary of Lieutenant General Gan Pampols as vice-president: “He buried his vocation”

The monitoring session in the Valencian Courts with the Government of Carlos Mazón was not free of accusations and controversies between the PP and the PSOE. One of them is that which concerns the removal of the salary cap so that the civil servants and soldiers of the new regional executive can earn more than 92,000 euros and their salaries can exceed those of the leader of the Consell by 15%.

In this regard, the PSPV-PSOE criticized the new second vice president and minister of recovery, Lieutenant General Francisco Jose Gan Pampolsthat “the first thing he rebuilt was his salary” with the decree approved this week by the Generalitat, a few hours after the inauguration.

“You are the first to buries the vocation of public service in this decree”, launched socialist deputy Rosa Peris in Pampols, to which vice-president Susana Camarero responded by criticizing the salary of the government delegate, Pilar Bernabéand accusing him of “playing politics with a civil protection action at the door of Cecopi” formed by DANA on October 29.

This regulatory change was introduced in the final provisions of a decree-law of extraordinary measures for the management, organization and mobility of public agents following the flood. The text was approved at the first meeting of the Valencian Executive after the new councilors took office, including Gan Pampols.

Concerning the controversial measure, called into question on the aesthetic level after an unparalleled catastrophe, the socialist representative put the president at the center of attention by affirming that “his level of discredit is of such magnitude that he has just appoint a general to save soldier Mazón and his first decision was to increase his salary. “How dare they commit this ignominy in the midst of an emergency, in front of people who have lost everything?” he asked.

It was at that moment that the socialist addressed the new vice president, present for the first time in the chamber, to dishonor him for having “demanded that the first thing in reconstruction be his salary.” “We already know what he’s been doing in recent days: shuffling papers to make a custom suit,” he added. For the moment, in the transparency platform of the Generalitat, the remuneration of the new vice-president for recovery nor of the rest of the administrators does not appear.

“What are you going to do for those affected?”

And he reminded Pampols: “To you who say you are not a politician, there have been many councilors who put public service before their salary.” In response, the vice-president spokesperson of the Consell asked the PSOE “what it is going to do for the people affected by the dana” and demanded that it stop “hoaxes, lies and misrepresentations“.

“This is what they have been doing for a month, as an electoral tactic, to try to find a return to the greatest tragedy of this community,” he criticized. Speaking of salaries, Camarero stressed that the President of Government, Pedro Sánchez, invoice “80,000 euros compared to the 98,451 of the government delegatewho is dedicated to playing politics with a trial in Civil Protection and at the gates of Cecopi. “The lady who earns the most in Cecopi devotes herself to politics,” he added, affirming that the PSOE “has been navel-gazing for a month” instead of “worrying about reconstruction like the others”.
