The accusation of David Sánchezbrother of the President of the Government, is described by the PSOE as “gratuitous” and carried out through “hoaxes”, while the Popular Party speaks of “limitless degradation of Spanish politics” after hearing the news.
Last Wednesday, Judge Beatriz Biedma was cited as being investigated to David Sánchez, brother of the President of the Government, as well as eight other people – including the leader of the PSOE of Extremadura and president of the Provincial Delegation of Badajoz, Miguel Ángel Gallardo – for alleged crimes against the Administration and the Public Treasury, embezzlement, prevarication and influence peddling.
Specifically, for allegations of irregularities in the appointment of Sánchez, as coordinator of the activities of the music conservatories of the Provincial Delegation of Badajoz. An accusation which provoked the reaction of the popular leader, Alberto Nuñez Feijóo: “We have learned of the accusation from the brother of the President of the Government and the president of the PSOE of Extremadura for this hiring. The level of degradation of Spanish politics seems to have no limits“.
For her part, Patxi López, spokesperson for the PSOE, described the accusation of David Sánchez as “gratuitous”: “We have had enough of the hoaxes, the lies and the cuttings from who knows which press, that the accusations against people who have nothing.
Something similar was expressed by Miguel Ángel Gallardo, leader of the PSOE of Extremadura and also investigated, who assured that this case would not happen if he were not the brother of the president: “”The deputation has always respected the utmost legality in its procedure. In fact, what is clear from the UCO report is that there are no criminal charges. There was a competition in which nine people entered and no one appealed. “I am sure that if the person who entered the square was not called David Sánchez, but Juan López, there would be no case.”
