The PSOE criticizes the fact that the Andalusian government “has not executed 70 percent of investments against drought” three months before the end of 2024

THE spokesperson for Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Local Development of the Socialist group in the Andalusian Parliament, Ana Romerocriticized this Saturday that the Andalusian government he presides over Juanma Moreno (PP-A) had reached last August “barely 29.3% of investments for 2024 in terms of drought”, leaving more than 70% of funds to be executedwhen more than 75% of the year had already been completed.

This is what the socialist parliamentarian underlined in a note in which she emphasizes that this translates “in more than 350 million euros without execution.

Ana Romero made these statements before the start of the hydrological yearwhich will begin on October 1, and in response to the statements of the Minister of Agriculture and Water of the Junta de Andalucía, Ramon Fernández-Pachecowho expressed his concern about the situation of the reservoirs and who defended the fact that the Andalusian Government is “investing”.

The representative of the PSOE-A denied these “alleged investments” of the Council and affirmed that the vision of her party in this regard “is very different and is based on data and facts” such as the “non-execution of the budgeted investments. »

In this regard, the Andalusian PSOE criticizes the Moreno government for its “constant policy of confrontation” in which “They ask the Spanish government for funds, but they do not execute them”.

Ana Romero insisted on the idea that “Andalusia does not have a financing problem”, but rather “a problem of lack of execution” and “a management problem”, while adding that it is “the Andalusians, and in this case, the farmers and breeders, who suffer the consequences of its poor execution and mismanagement”.

In this sense, Romero criticized the “lack of commitment” of the Junta of Andalusia with the agricultural and livestock sector, “to which it has turned its back since the start of the drought”.

The socialist spokesperson stressed that last June, within the framework of the Agricultural Commission“from the socialist group we proposed a new decree on drought because we had to work in advance.”

This proposal included direct measures such as direct subsidies to the agricultural and livestock sector and that they be received in the short term, as detailed by the representative of the PSOE-A, who regretted that “the Popular Party of Moreno Bonilla voted no, blocking this proposal which “would be so well received by the Andalusian primary sector”, concluded Ana Romero.
