The Valencian PSOE took away the town hall of Requena from the Popular Party this Tuesday with a motion of censure in full DANA. This motion was presented by the PSPV-PSOE and Party of Requena and Aldeas (PRyA) against the current mayor, Rocío Cortés (PP), also president of the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP), prospered with the votes in favor of both formations, so that the socialist Mario Sánchez recovered the town hall this Tuesday . the city.
The Socialists and the PRyA announced last October the presentation of the motion of censure and justified it to the “absolute lack of ability and interest to govern” of the PP, while denouncing that the municipality is “completely paralyzed”, with a “total lack of initiative to demand investments and carry out work”, in a “limited situation”.
Faced with this scenario, the PSPV and the PRyA signed an agreement to oust the PP from the City Hall and form a coalition executive in order to “improve the situation of Requena and its villages” and “recover the enthusiasm of citizens.” He The pact was born from the desire to last the remainder of the mandate, until June 2027. Concerning the distribution of powers, the pact provides for advisors for the eight PSPV advisors, with Mario Sánchez as mayor and three other PRyA councilorswith Joaquín González as first deputy mayor.
During the plenary debate held this Tuesday, the PSPV mayoral spokesperson and candidate for mayor, Mario Sánchez, began his speech remembering the victims of DANA and, in this regard, he emphasized: “ The work of all that we dedicate to the public This should work to get back to normal as quickly as possible and so that events like those experienced recently do not happen again. »
“We are not strangers to reality and popular common sense. We know that now is not the time for unnecessary debates and, if we are here today, it is because the date of this motion of censure was fixed by law when we presented it, two weeks ago. It is a date that cannot be delayed and the law does not allow another motion of censure to be presented at a later date,” he maintained.
For her part, the current mayor, Rocío Cortés (PP) questioned the holding of this municipal plenary session in the midst of the disaster caused by DANA: “It is not necessary, the Government is at the same time declaring the area catastrophic and we must help our neighboring municipalities.
