The PSPV will support the budget of the Diputació de València “if it is redirected to those affected by DANA”

The provincial executive of the PSPV agreed this Sunday that the socialist group would give its support, with a favorable vote, to the budgets of the Diputació de València for the year 2025 “if they are redirected towards the reconstruction of the areas affected by DANA” .

The socialist provincial secretary, Carlos Fernández Bielsa, also declared that the 2025 budget and the following ones “must have as a common element a particular attention to the needs of the localities affected by Dana in five Valencian regions”.

Bielsa said that “the budget cannot depend on Vox deniers, who must be made useless” and that the Provincial Council must provide all the necessary budgetary, technical and human resources to repair the damage.

The socialist leader affirms that the 2025 and subsequent budgets must also prioritize strategic actions to avoid or mitigate future episodes of extreme phenomena marked by climate change. Thus, he underlines, the provincial accounts “must aim at the restitution of destroyed or damaged infrastructure, equipment and services and allow lines of aid and subsidies for the economic sectors, SMEs, the self-employed and individuals” .

Working group composed of experts and concerned municipalities

The spokesperson for the deputation also announced to the executive that the socialist group would raise the need to create a working group composed of experts, scientists, civil servants and technicians, university departments and professional associations, as well as than a representation of municipalities. at risk, to obtain precise advice in making strategic decisions.

He proposes that this working group “also allows the Generalitat to propose the regulatory and operational changes necessary to improve and evolve emergency response policies”.

During the executive, Bielsa expressed words of admiration, support and solidarity with the mayors, councilors of the affected municipalities as well as with neighbors, volunteers and state structures who contributed so much as possible for help. He also expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and his empathy for the anguish of those who are still waiting for news of the missing people.
