The purchase of the boat that the Provincial Delegation of Toledo acquired in 2015 during the mandate of former president Arturo García-Tizón is about to close. All that remains is for the Galician company that acquired it to make the corresponding payment, 160,000 eurosseven years after the first auction, in 2017.
This was announced this Monday by the Vice President of General Affairs of the Provincial Council, Joaquín Romera. “In July we received an offer that we worked on all these months and we are already in the last phasesettlement and payment. All formal procedures are underway, we have all the documentation from the interested company and we are in the process of formalizing the payment,” detailed Romera.
Once that payment is made, the boat will be delivered, although Romera doesn’t know what it will be used for.
“In one year we launched the operation and the sale is almost complete, compared to the eight leaders of the PSOE who decided to use the deal politically,” Romera added.
Since 2017, ten auctions have taken place to sell the boat, the last in June 2023, for 162,000 euros, and all of them turned out to be void. The first dates from December 29, 2017, for the same purchase price, 344,850 euros.
The boat was purchased by the government team of the “popular” Arturo García Tizón to encourage visits to the Ciudad de Vascos site. It has 60 seats and is blocked in Ribadeo (Lugo), which costs the Toledo Provincial Delegation around 4,000 euros per year.
The PSOE government team, chaired by Álvaro Gutiérrez, decided to sell the boat, which could not even be received since the Huso River is not navigable, according to the Tagus Hydrographic Confederation (CHT).
