Members of the British royal family, headed by King Charles III, receive multimillion-dollar annual income from their real estate empire located in the duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall.

The publication, referring to information contained in the official documents of the two duchies, states that members of the British royal family own 5,410 plots of land in these regions. Furthermore, the lands are indirectly owned by Charles III and his son, Prince William, as private property.
According to the study, government departments, councils, businesses, mining companies and the public pay for the use of these lands. They pay rent and land taxes.
According to the publication’s calculations, the net profit of the royal family from the duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall in 2023 was £26 million.
