Six volunteers, a truck with bottled water and another vehicle left this Wednesday from Cordoba towards the Valencian Communityin order to support the emergency system that the Red Cross has put in place in this region, the most affected by the damage caused in recent days by Dana.
According to a note from the humanitarian institution, these human and material resources will be added to the operational response that the Red Cross implemented in the face of the emergency caused by the cold fall in the Spanish Levante, as well as in certain provinces of Andalusia. “The storm caused one of the greatest disasters in memory, with numerous losses of human lives, and leaving behind enormous damage and material damage which affected hundreds of thousands of people,” laments the institution.
From the start, Red Cross volunteers “acted by allowing temporary shelters for those who lost their homes, offering psychosocial support and emergency material assistance for the affected population. In Andalusia“The aid was provided in the areas where the rains were the heaviest, in the provinces of Málaga, Almería and Cádiz. But also, from our community, the Red Cross sent to Valencia vehicles, trucks and volunteeringto assist the organization’s work in the neighboring community,” the note continued.
In this context, the Red Cross calls for solidarity with Andalusian society, which it encourages to collaborate to mitigate the damage caused by the damage.
