The registration period for the 6th edition of the Desalambre Awards is open

Until November 3, 2024, the registration period is open for the VI edition of the Desalambre Awards, a recognition with which elDiario.es wants to recognize the committed work of journalism and civil society in the defense of human rights.

The Desalambre Awards aim to promote and celebrate professional quality and personal dedication in one of the most transcendental areas of information of our time. Journalism has followed the alert launched for decades by social organizations on the fundamental risks and challenges of our society and, therefore, these awards want to recognize this effort to keep the focus on what is important and on the stories of the most vulnerable.

In turn, elDiario.es wants to contribute to the development of the third sector, give visibility to its projects and recognize the work of organizations that defend causes of public and general interest: development cooperation, childcare, the rights of migrant children, the defense of the environment or universal access to essential services such as education or health.

Until December 3, works published between October 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024 may be submitted for these awards. The required documentation will be requested via the registration form available on the website of the VI edition of the Desalambre Awards, where the selection of the winning works will also be announced.

Desalambre is the specialized human rights publication of elDiario.es, awarded for its intense coverage of all dimensions of the migratory phenomenon and a meeting point for those interested in international cooperation policies.

This sixth edition of the Desalambre Awards awards a total of seven prizes. Six of them are divided into two categories: Activism and NGOs, and Journalism.

The Special Public Recognition category is also maintained, an addition from the previous edition that awards an award for the best content generated on social networks. With this recognition, the Desalambre Awards want to value the role of the public as a key and essential element in the work of disseminating and promoting new formats and content on social networks.

The Desalambre Awards will award seven prizes, one for each prize, which consists of a limited and unique edition made especially for the Desalambre Awards.

For their part, the winning works in the Journalism and Special Public Recognition category will receive a financial reward of €1,000.

The list of awarded works will be published both on this website and in the human rights section of elDiario.es: Desalambre.
