The investigation into 8-year-old Narin Gura, who went missing on August 21 in Turkey’s Diyarbakir province and 19 days later her body was found in a sack in a stream bed near the village, is continuing, and 24 people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
In the context of these events, it became known that Narin’s relatives threatened a journalist named Ferit Demir, who has been monitoring, investigating and covering the processes in the region.

News of the threat brought to mind images of the woman, reportedly a relative of Nari, shouting at the crowd at the funeral: “Go and tell lies.”
Then the woman, who is a relative of Narin, turned her face towards the crowd – “Go and tell a lie, okay?” – her screams attracted attention. At that moment, first another woman who was next to the woman, and then a man tried to silence her. When the woman did not keep quiet, the man even punched her.
Ferit Demir said he changed his location at every show.
“Today at the cemetery, a person approached me and threatened me: ‘In fact, we should kill you, why are you saying these things?’ and also Salim Guran, the executive representative of the village – ed.) we claimed that he was the main suspect from the second day onwards.
We have not said this until today, now that Narin has been found, I am revealing it now. I change places many times at each show. They threaten you because you tell the truth. Someone even attempted an attack in front of the Forensic Medicine Office, which we did not spread. But we did not back down. Why should we back down? We tried to find out what happened to Nari and we never backed down. There is a little boy named Narin…” – said Ferit Demir about what happened to him.
The relatives of Nari, who was brutally murdered, threatened the journalist who was investigating the incident: “We must kill you.”
