The removal of language requirement -the title of Valencian C1- in some teaching positions of the autonomous government of Carlos Mazón has rebelled to several the unions of Education, which claims its recovery for the call for vacant positions in sight.
From the education sector CGU Public Services of the Valencian Country «they reject the current call for the general competition transfers in the Valencian Community and demand that the 10,000 vacancies existing, while maintaining the language requirement,” they said in a statement.
As an argument for these demands, they position themselves in favor of the linguistic filter in these personnel selection processes in the public sector, as was done until the change at the Generalitat Valenciana.
The new autonomous law “removes the linguistic requirement in most specialties and teaching bodies, which implies that the Consell presided over by Carlos Mazón has demolished the barrier necessary which must protect and guarantee that our education system is taught by bilingual professionals, who know, use and master our own and official language, as required by the Statute of Autonomy”, they emphasize. And they demand that this regulation is not applied.
In the case of the Syndicat de Workers de l’Ensenyament del País Valencià (STEPV), is also against “eliminate THE training in Valencian for teachers of Professional Training, Artistic Education and EOI [Escuelas Oficiales de Idiomas]even if it is said that the vehicular use of languages in these teachings will be regulated later.
