THE new season of the 25th Spring Contemporary Theater Series will begin from February 7, 2025 to May 24 and consists of seven shows included in subscriptions that They will go on sale on November 28 at a price of 105 euros. to be able to benefit from these performances. Two titles are also programmed outside of this subscription.
The nine titles that make up the cycle and that are included in the subscription are: “Las que cepan”, from the National Drama Center directed by Areta Bolado, Noelia Castro and Ailén Kendelman; ‘Vicent River’, ‘Friends of Them Two’, ‘Mahmud and not just Mahmud’, ‘14.4’, ‘The collection’ and ‘Iribarne’
They are excluded from the subscription and will be on sale from December 5: ‘Six characters in search of an author’ and ‘Mondays in the sun’, which will take place at the El Greco Conference Center.
Among the programming highlights the arrival on the stage of the Teatro de Rojas of “Six characters in search of an author” (excluding subscription) by Luigi Pirandello under the direction of Pepa Gamboa and Antonio Alamo and with the actors Ruth Gabriel, Nuria Gallardo, Ramón Langa, Chema León or Didier Otaola, responsible for opening this cycle.
Programming
The program will continue with ‘Those who clean’, show recommended by the Spanish channel by the company A Panadaría and directed by Areta Bolado, Noelia Castro and Ailén Kendelman; “Vincent River”.
In February 2025 you will be able to enjoy “Vincent River” by Philip Ridley with Pilar Massa and Eduardo Gallo. The month of March begins with the production ‘Les amis de deux deux’ with Malena Alterio and David Lorente, under the direction of Daniel Veronese.
Another of the pieces that will arrive at the Municipal Coliseum are “Mahmud and not only Mahmud”, which includes five circus and theater artists. The play Mahmud tells a true story through lyrics, acrobatics and live singing.
In April they will be on stage, also without subscription, “Mondays in the Sun” by Fernando León de Aranoa and Ignacio del Moralwith a cast of eight artists, including Marcial Álvarez, Fernando Cayo, José Luis Torrijo, Yune Nogueiras and Fernando Huesca, among others.
In May it will be the turn of ‘14.4’, play which has a dramaturgy of Juan Diego Botto, Sergio Peris-Mencheta and Ahemed Younoussi. It is headed by Peris-Mencheta himself.
This same month, ‘The Collection’ will be staged, with text and direction by Juan Mayorga and performed, among others, by José Sacristán and Ana Marzoa.
Finally, also in May, “Iribarne” from the National Drama Center with a text by Esther F. Carrodeguas will close the series.
