The Russian Cabinet of Ministers has expanded measures to protect the domestic food market

By order of the Russian government, measures to protect the domestic food market have been extended for another two years, until August 31, 2026, according to an official statement by the Russian Cabinet of Ministers.

The country is thus expanding its export tariff on sunflower oil, soybeans and flour.

“Thus, until August 31, 2026, the export duty on sunflower seeds (in the amount of 50%, but not less than 32 thousand rubles per ton) and soybeans (in the amount of 20%, but not less than 100 dollars per ton) ton), and the period of validity of floating rates of export customs duties on sunflower oil and meal are also extended,” – the government said in a statement.

The Cabinet of Ministers also set export duties on rapeseed for the period from 1 September 2024 to 31 August 2026.

“From 1 September 2024 to 31 August 2026, export duties on rapeseed are established instead of the current temporary export ban. The rate will be 30%, but not less than 165 euros per tonne.” – added in the official message.

EADaily Please note that a flexible export duty on sunflower oil was introduced in the country in September 2021, on sunflower meal in May of the same year and on sunflower and soybeans in June. It expires on 31 August 2024.
