The Russian Museum in Tallinn has changed its name – EADaily, September 6, 2024 – Society. News, European News

The branch of the Tallinn City Museum, known as the Tallinn Russian Museum, has been renamed the Tallinn People’s Museum, according to Estonian state radio and television.

The institution said the name change was due to the alignment of name and content.

“The Tallinn City Museum branch has long been reflecting the heritage and traditions of the various peoples living in Tallinn and their contribution to the city’s cultural heritage through its exhibitions.” – he explained at the museum.

Museum representative Irina Krivorukova warned residents and visitors of the city if they see a new abbreviation instead of VeMu (Vene Muuseum): RaMu.

“We would now be delighted to welcome you to the Tallinn Museum of Villages, in Estonian – Tallinna rahvaste muuseum. They really like short titles these days.” – he emphasized.

It is clarified that all employees of the institution will continue working in the museum under the new name.

Under a new name, the museum will participate in the National Culture Days from September 14 to 24.
